Maybelline Baby Lips Review in Pink Punch!

Maybelline Baby Lips....oh how I have avoided you.  I don't know what it was about Baby Lips when it first appeared on store shelves, but I was left feeling rather unenthusiastic.  It appeared to me to be a mere tinted chapstick that, once applied, might as well be clear.  Of course, I had nothing to base this assumption on, it's just was I thought.  Well, after seeing a good sale and needing a couple dollars more to qualify for free shipping, I decided to go ahead and give it a try.  Check it out after the jump!

Maybelline Quad in Seashore Frosts: What A Let Down!

When I first laid my eyes on the Maybelline Quad in Seashore Frosts, I instantly had to have it!  I just thought the color combination was so gorgeous and unusual for the drugstore.  Imagine my disappointment when I realize this sucked hard!

Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Eraser Dark Circles Concealer in Medium Review

I definitely didn't need any more concealer when I decided to finally pick up Maybelline's Instant Age Rewind Eraser Dark Circles Concealer.  I already got a ton and one that I'm particularly happy with from LA Girl.  The packaging on the Eraser has been intriguing me from the time of it's release, though, and I couldn't resist finally trying it.  Check it out!

New Limited Edition Maybelline Color Tattoos Swatches!

I've been waiting and praying that Maybelline would come out with more shades of their simply amazing Color Tattoos and it seems that my prayers have finally been answered.  It seems that there's not only 1, but TWO limited edition sets of Color Tattoos making the rounds.  In one, the one that I'm showing you today, there are 4 new neutral shades, (I only got 3).  There is also 4 new jewel-toned shades that I've been searching everywhere for but to no avail.  Read on for swatches!

Maybelline Master Drama Eyeliners Review

I think I must be the last person to try Maybelline's Master Drama Pencils out!  They've been out for a while now but I never really need yet another liner so I waited a while before I actually took the dive.  Check them out after the jump!  And just a note:  this seems to have been a bad picture day for me so sorry for the sucky photo quality :-/

Claw Candy: Maybelline Express Finish Polish in Peachy Petal

Maybelline Express Finish Nail Color in Peachy Petal caught my eye a few weeks ago at Rite Aid when I saw a nice, big clearance sticker lying next to it, along with the rest of this limited edition polish collection  I can't remember what collection this was a part of but I'm going to go out on the limb here and say it was a spring collection for this year...just a guess.  Anywho, I've been looking for a polish this exact color for quite some time now and didn't twice about it.


The color did not disappoint in the least and was opaque in 2 coats, which makes me happy.  However, remember when I mentioned that although I loved Revlon's new Colorstay polish line except application was a bit of a pain?  This polish from Maybelline made Revlon's applications seem like a dream.  Good God was this an asshole to deal with!  It was supposed to dry in 50 seconds......50 seconds my arse!  And the streakage going on was more than I could deal with.  It also didn't take but a few days for this to start chipping something crazy.  


I did love the color though....just definitely not worth the effort.  Don't know if all the polishes are like this, but I did pick up another shade so I'll let you know how that goes.  *fingers crossed*  You can check out more shades at maybelline.com

Bloodshot Eye Makeup

So I finally figured out a way to use that red shade in the Sleek Me, Myself, & Eye palette.  I've been staring at it since I got it, so excited to try it yet unsure about how to go about wearing it.  Then I took a cue from Marilyn Monroe.  She used to take a red lip liner and draw an almost undetectable small red dot in her very inner corner to make her eyes appear whiter.  So I thought, maybe I could use the red shadow as an inner corner highlight?  For some reason the combo of the red shadow and purple liner reminds me of superhero comic books.  Don't know why, it just does.  This is also the first look I've done with as strong a brow as pictured here, and I think I like it!  I've been doing my brows similarly ever since.  List of products used after the jump!

Maybelline Dream Lumi Touch Highlighting Concealer - Note the word "Highlight"

A few weeks ago I became obsessed with getting YSL's Touche Eclait, but seeing the price in print turned me off the idea quickly.  Luckily it seems many drugstore brands are dropping similar products to YSL so I can at least pretend :)  One of these brands are Maybelline with their Dream Lumi Touch Highlighting Concealer, said to illuminate and hide imperfections, as per the packaging.  And at $5.99, most of us average janes and joes and afford to try it.  Find out if it lives up to it's claims after the jump!

Off to the Movies FOTD

This look isn't special or anything, just a plummy/cranberry smoky eye, that I wore to the movies (I saw Hunger Games! Loved it!)  I mostly did it to test a few new products out that you can expect reviews of fairly soon.  List of products to follow!

Mascara Mixology: Rimmel Lash Accelerator + Maybelline One by One!

I'm a huge fan of layering different mascaras for a more customized look.  I'd much rather buy different mascaras that specialize in 1 thing (length, volume, definition, etc) and mix them, then get one mascara that claims to do it all and be disappointed.  The only mascara I've found that is able to do that so far for me is Buxom Lash, so for all else I tend to mix with each other.  So I've decided to start a blog series of sorts to kind of document my various mascara "recipes" that have been found by me to be successful.


Today's post is featuring Rimmel Lash Accelerator and Maybelline One by One.  The Rimmel mascara gives AH-mazing length while the Maybelline mascara is one of the few mascaras that I've found to be able to keep a good amount of definition while volumizing.  Together, these 2 are unstoppable!  Take the jump to see my lashes before and after and the official Mascara Mixology Recipe!

OMG, LOL @ Maybelline Lots of Lashes Mascara (Review)

Doesn't the packaging of Maybelline's Lots of Lashes Mascara just scream "fun"?  I would've have loved this stuff in high school, it's just so darn cute.  From the iconic & classic pink & green of all Maybelline Great Lash mascaras to the hearts and the LOL reference....I just can't handle it!  But as a beauty blogger I soon had to get over all that to actually review the product which was really hard to do, but I did it.  And I have to say, for me the best use I can get out of this is a nice purse accessory.  It's by far not the worst mascara, but it's definitely not my favorite although I can definitely see some people digging this.  Find out if it might be for you after the jump!

I've been dragging my ass on this review for Maybelline Illegal Lengths Mascara because I was trying to figure out a way I could use this and love it, but I just couldn't :(  Maybelline has worked up a good reputation with me when it comes to their mascaras so I figured I could somehow make it work for me if I just kept at it.  One thing that I did get out of this was a revelation that will probably save me a lot of money in the future though.  Find out what that revelation was and a full review on the mascara after the jump!
