Buzzkill....Can't Get the Sleek Matte Palettes in the US :(

Encircled text reads:  Please Note:  Due to FDA regulations this palette
cannot be sold in the US.  We apologize for any inconvenience this causes
I was too excited when I saw all the headlines on Facebook that the Sleek Matte palettes everyone's been talking about were finally available for purchase on their website.  So I rush on over to the site to scope it out and plop it in my cart.  Only there's a small hitch - US RESIDENTS CAN'T BUY THE MATTE PALETTES!!!  Apparently the FDA won't allow them to be sold here :(

Now, I'm not really mad at Sleek or the FDA.  I'm sure it was an important ingredient used if Sleek used it in spite of losing possible revenue from the US market.  And the FDA exists (supposedly) to keep products safe for our consumption.  But it's still a major bummer....

Good news is you can still snag them on Ebay, albeit for a bit of a price hike.  You can window shop the new palettes at SleekMakeup.com.

Bloodshot Eye Makeup

So I finally figured out a way to use that red shade in the Sleek Me, Myself, & Eye palette.  I've been staring at it since I got it, so excited to try it yet unsure about how to go about wearing it.  Then I took a cue from Marilyn Monroe.  She used to take a red lip liner and draw an almost undetectable small red dot in her very inner corner to make her eyes appear whiter.  So I thought, maybe I could use the red shadow as an inner corner highlight?  For some reason the combo of the red shadow and purple liner reminds me of superhero comic books.  Don't know why, it just does.  This is also the first look I've done with as strong a brow as pictured here, and I think I like it!  I've been doing my brows similarly ever since.  List of products used after the jump!

Sleek Oh So Special Palette Review! (Sorry for the delay!)

I've had this palette for a while, as evidenced by its presence on my March favorites & Cherry Blossom FOTD, and had meant to review this right after the Me, Myself & Eye Palette.  But, long story short, the palette I received had a wrong shade included so I've been waiting for Sleek to send me a new so I could represent the palette here as accurately as possible.  So finally I can share the Oh So Special Palette with you, a product that I've been using nearly every day since I got it!

Neutral Flare Look

Figuring out how to rock color on my lids while still keeping my look on the neutral day-friendly side is like deciding to wear sexy lingerie under your business suit to work:  a friendly compromise between your practical needs and party side.  Thus is the objective for what I'm calling a Neutral Flare look.  From far away it looks pretty safe and neutral, but up close you see the slight pop of navy blue on the water line and a double-winged top liner.  Full list of products after the jump!

Cherry Blossom FOTD

I've finally stopped walking on eggshells around whether or not Winter is going to make a last minute comeback and officially welcomed Spring.  Spring makeup for me all about a fresh face and bright yet soft colors, so what better way to kick the season off than a Cherry Blossom theme.  I was surprised at how much I liked this look once I was done and this will definitely be revisited again and again this in the next coming months.  This is also a great kind of look for those of you neutral-lovers who want to venture out into a more colorful territory as it's very easy to pull off during the daytime.  Additionally this is a good introduction to the pinks in the Sleek Oh So Special palette that I will be reviewing soon.  Full list of products used and more photos after the jump!

My First Tango with Sleek Part 1: Me, Myself & Eye

(Firstly, this is my 100th post!  YAY!!  I can't believe I only started this blog just this past November, it feels like I've been doing this a lot longer!  I just want to take a moment to thank all of my readers for sticking with me.  Writing this blog and being apart of the beauty community has been the greatest treat.  I love you all <3)
As a huge fan of the Pixowoo sisters, I've been dying to get my hands on some Sleek palettes for well over a year now as Sam & Nic are always using them.  I couldn't believe a drugstore brand existed where such excellently pigmented shadows were available at such reasonable prices.  The problem:  Sleek Cosmetics is a UK brand that at the time wasn't available in the US :(  Problem #2:  When they finally did offer their products for sale internationally online shipping was a little steep for me to afford :(  Well, after some successfully stalking of their site I caught them on a day where they were having 50% off their shipping so I took advantage of it and scored some swag.  I'm going to introduce the products individually so this first post will feature Sleek's Me, Myself & Eye palette!  So take the jump for the review and swatches!
