As excited as I was when I heard about the Cinderella palette, I just about blew a gasket when I found out the next princess to be featured at Sephora was going to be Jasmine! Jasmine was my absolute favorite princess growing up (probably because she was the only princess at the time that looked anything like me at all). And seeing the shades included, the Jasmine Storylook palette is just in time for the Summer with its warm shadows.

Sephora Story Look Palette Vol 1: Cinderella Swatches
Seeing this palette on Christmas morning, despite the fact that I was well aware my mother had bought it for me, almost brought me to tears. There is something about Disney Princesses that makes me feel so nostalgic! So you can imagine that Sephora mixing Disney and makeup together was exactly my kind of product!

Urban Decay Vice Palette "Chaos" Look
Without a doubt, Chaos is the standout shade from Urban Decay's Vice Palette, so I really wanted to challenge myself to use it for a day look. I got so many compliments on this look it was insane, especially since I only went to get my blood taken and to the gas station. It's something about this kind of electric blue that demands attention. List of products after the jump!

Sephora Microsmooth Foundation Powder Review
I've been on the hunt for a good face powder a while now. I noticed a lot of YouTube gurus turning any concealer into full coverage by setting it with a good powder. So after hearing good things about Sephora's Microsmooth Foundation Face Powder, I thought I'd give it a try!

Happy New Year! My Beauty Wishes for 2013!
Turns out that the Mayans were wrong and 2013 arrived without incident (unless you're as scared as I am that Kim and Kanye are procreating....). I'm always excited to see what what a new year has to bring, but I'm especially interested in the new beauty products thrown at us this year. Here's my list of things I'd really like to see come to fruition within the beauty world!

Tarina Tarantino Emerald Pretty Eyeshadow Palette Swatches!
There are 2 things you are probably aware of right now: 1) Tarina Tarantino products are 40% off at Sephora right now, and 2) Sephora is currently holding their Friends and Family Sale for VIBs and BIs. If you didn't know that before, well, you do now. I'm telling you all this because I recently purchased Tarina Tarantino's Emerald Pretty Palette and it's AH-MAZZZZING! So I wanted to throw these swatches out at you ASAP since I think the the Sephora F&F sale is going to be dunzo tomorrow.

KILLER DEAL ALERT: 2 New Awesome Sale Items at Sephora!
Get your ass to Sephora.com right now!
I get up this morning and lo and behold, Sephora has put 2 items on sale that I've been drooling over for months now: the Sephora + Pantone Shades of Nature Palette and the Color of the Year Collector's Edition Set featuing Tangerine Tango.
Just a reminder, the palette was first released at $55, then marked down to $48. Now you can get it for $17! The Tangerine Tango set I believe, although not sure, started out around $60, but then marked down to $34. It's now priced at $21!
You're getting an amazing deal here for the sale price, especially with the Tangerine Tango set!
So if you've had your eyes either of these items, head on over to Sephora's sale page before they sell out. And if, by the time you get there, they are sold out, don't freak. I've noticed that a lot of stuff on Sephora's sale page goes in and out of stock frequently so keep checking!

Sephora Bulls Eye Lash Applicator Review
If you recall an earlier post, you may remember me going absolutely bonkers over the addition of Sephora's Bulls Eye Lash Applicator to the Sephora website. False Lash Application is one of those "final frontiers" that I have yet to conquer, so anything tool that could potentially make it easier is a must-have for me! Read on for more!

Get Your Tokidoki Fix While You Still Can!
You've probably already heard that Tokidoki is hanging up the towel in the beauty department. I don't know about the rest of their line, but Sephora has had their Tokidoki inventory on clearance for a month now. There are still plenty of things available for sale at Sephora so it's not too late to get your hands on some things. I've never used, nor been interested in the brand before, but since it was priced so low, I figured I try some of the products out. Keep reading for swatches!

POLL RESULTS: What Disney Princess is most like you when it comes to beauty?
The results are in from the most recent poll on your Disney Princess Beauty Match! Here are the results!
Belle: 14%
Snow White: 10%
Cinderella: 3%
Mulan: 3%
Pocahontas: 0%
Jasmine: 17%
Tiana: 14%
Aurora: 7%
Ariel: 7%
Rapunzel: 10%
None: 3%
Combination of 2 or more: 7%
While Jasmine comes out on top, there are no real landslides here. As for me, I chose the Combo option. In terms of my beauty personality I think I'm most like both Aurora and Ariel. On the one hand, I'm girly like Aurora and I love playing in my makeup all the time. On the other hand though, I don't let makeup get in the way of things I need to do during the day. So if I know I'm going to the beach, for instance, it's waterproof or nothing. Or if I know I'm going to be sweating, I'm not going to bother with foundation.
I'm glad there are a lot of Jasmine's out there though! When I think of Jasmine I think fierce and daring, not afraid to wear bold makeup wherever or whenever she wants. I wish I could be more like that!

I NEED THIS! Some New Sephora Goodies That Must Be Mine!
Sephora kind of sucks at keeping their 'What's New' page up to date all the time so periodically I like to go through each brand I'm interested in and look for the new items myself. Today I found 2 products in the Sephora-brand that I immediately added to my wishlist!
First, and what I'm most excited about, are the Sephora Bulls Eye Lash Applicator! It's a pair of tweezers specifically shaped to apply false lashes. There are broad grips on the end of these tweezers that get a more secure hold of your lashes than regular brow tweezers. I've seen similar tweezers before from other companies but most of them I either can't find or are way beyond my budget, while these are only $12! These are a definite buy from me and will be in my cart the next time I go on a Sephora spree!
Sephora has been coming out with what seems to be an ever-expanding line of what they call Microsmooth powder products. This has so far included foundations, face powders, blushes, and, now, eyeshadow trios. I'm not sure if I've actually seen these trios before, but the particular shade in Natural Light is new to me. What has me so excited about Natural Light is that according to the shade description all three shades are matte. And not only are they all matte, but they are all colors that are essential to any makeup collection: a cream, medium brown, and dark brown.
Are you as excited about these products as I am?

Bare Minerals Ready Eyeshadow 4.0 "The Dream Sequence" Look
A couple days ago I reviewed the Bare Minerals Ready Eyeshadow 4.0 in The Dream Sequence and today I have for you a look using only the shadows from the quad. The purples in this are gorgeous on brown eyes and I'll tell you now, these pictures do not give the Romp shadow any justice what so ever. It's sooooo gorgeous!

Sephora Hot Hues Bronzers: So it's You I've Been Looking For?
If you've read my review of Avon's Super Shock Liquid Lip Shines, you know that I LOVE oversized cosmetics! Sephora has been another company popping these giants out as well, and I picked up the 2 shades of their Hot Hues Bronzers from the sales section at my local store. I was really excited that both the shades turned out to be 2 of the exact kind of shades I've been looking for for a long time. Take the jump for more!

I'm So Freakin' Mad Right Now about this Sephora + Pantone Palette!
The other day I'm just minding my own business and stalking the Sephora website when I come up on the Strokes of Nature Palette from Sephora + Pantone. It's love at first sight, except for its $55 price tag. So I scroll down to reviews to see if people are saying it's worth the price or not and I stumble upon the most infuriating thing ever:
SEPHORA SENT THESE OUT FOR FREE TO V.I.B.'s!!!!!!!
Now, I'm not mad that V.I.B.'s were rewarded with this palette, I'm pissed that when I was a V.I.B. last year I didn't get jack shit except a 20% off sale that regular beauty insiders would get 2 weeks later anyway! And now that I'm broke and couldn't maintain my V.I.B. status any longer Sephora wants to make the program all awesome and what not. Yea, I'm a little salty....
But seriously, if you've gotten your hands on this palette already (free or purchased) let me know how you like the palette. What caught my eye about it was it's awesome range of color, but I'm wondering if the quality is typical of Sephora's usual blockbuster palettes or not. If it is, I'm definitely not even going to think about dropping $55 on it.
EDIT 5/18/2012: Down in the comment section, Amanda informed me that not all V.I.B.'s got the free palettes, that in addition to being a V.I.B., you also had to be a top contributor of the Sephora forum or a "special client". Thanks Amanda!

Butter LONDON at Sephora! Am I the last to know this?
I'm pretty sure everyone knew this but me as there are already reviews up on the page, but while digging through Sephora today I noticed Butter LONDON listed in the brand list. Sure enough Sephora then listed the polishes available for purchases. It's always a bit more convenient for me to shop at Sephora than Ulta, so this is great for me, although I'm not planning on grabbing them any time soon as I just had a few giant nail polish hauls. Just a heads up for those of you who are the lasts ones to know everything like me :)

Sephora + Pantone Universe Color of the Year Eyeliner Set Review: I sure hope Sephora does this collection every year!
While doing my Sephora Chic Week 15% off Haul I wanted so badly to get the Sephora + Pantone University Color of the Year Collector's Edition, but at $68 I couldn't negotiate it into my budget. So I decided to pick one thing from the collection that I really wanted and didn't already have something similar already, and that's where this Eyeliner Set comes in with it's pretty orange liner. I'll just this before getting to my review: Sephora and Pantone make a fairytale couple <3

Hoarders, Buried Alive: Sephora Beauty Insider Points Edition
Just a question for you guys...Does anyone else seriously hoard their Sephora Beauty Insider Points? I'm staring at my beauty bank right now and it currently stands at 662 and has been around that amount for a few years now. I do use them on a little 100-point perk every now and then, which is why it's not a lot higher, but I just can't bring myself to take the 500-point dive for the big one. They just had a pretty decent 500-point perk available from Tarte but I easily talked myself out that every time I thought about going for it. But, as things go, I waited too long and now there is a Bare Escentuals kit up for grabs that I have absolutely no interest in. Oh well....what's another few years of point hoarding gonna hurt? So what about you? Are you good at using up those Sephora points or are you hoarding them that one special perk that never seems to come?

Looky, Looky! A Possible MAC 217 Dupe from Sephora!
The MAC 217 is my favorite eye brush of all time. It blends like no other and makes it a cinch to get that perfect smoky eye. It's also engineered in a way that seems to be very hard to duplicate as proven by many failed attempts by other companies. I have three 217-type brushes: the Mac (of course), Coastal Scents, and Sigma. What sets the MAC 217 apart from others is 2 things: its fluffy yet stiff-enough bristles that allows the brush to keep it's structure in order to blend/apply precisely, and its tapered head yet flat top that allows you to apply color and blend at the same time. The Coastal Scents version isn't dense enough to keep it's structure and the Sigma doesn't have as flat a top. Most other companies don't even try an attempt at the brush at all.
So I'm very interested in this new Sephora Brush that looks suspiciously similar. It's called the Sephora Pro Oval Blending Brush #27 and it's made from natural goat hair, just like the 217. Sephora Pro Brushes are typically of high quality, so this could be a worthy competitor. Price-wise there's not much difference with Sephora being $20 and the MAC being $22.50, but I am curious if another company finally got it right, or if companies should just leave the heavy lifting for MAC after all.
