THE BEST CREAM BLUSHES! NYC Blushable Creme Sticks Review & Swatches!

Yea, I said it.  These things are great, and I'm not talking about great just for the price.  I'd be more than willing to spend more than $3.99 for them (though I'm not asking NYC to up the price by any means lol).  I've tried countless other cream blushes ranging from drugstore to high end and they have all paled in comparison to the NYC Blushable Creme Sticks.  Read on for more info and swatches!

What I like about these sticks is that they really do feel like creams.  You're probably thinking, "Duh, it's called a CREME Stick after all."  On the other hand, I do find that a number of cream blushes aren't actually creamy. Some are mousse, some are gels, and some even feel like grease.  I love when I find one that's an actual cream.

They are also quite pigmented, but don't let that scare you into thinking you're going to end up with clown cheeks.  It just means you aren't going to have to pile a bunch of product on your cheeks to get it to show up and then have to deal with cakiness or greasiness on your cheeks.  Nor will you go through the stick itself too quickly since you don't have to use much at a time.  All you're gonna get with these is a beautiful inner glow.  The blushes are ultra blendable too.  Personally, I like to use my Sonia Kashuk Flat-Top Blush Brush but your fingers work just as well.

So first, I'll throw you the swatches and then I'll put the color descriptions below each product picture.
L-R:  Berry New Yorker, Gold Radiance, Bronze Radiance, Plaza Pink,
Urban Spice, South St. Seashell, Big Apple Blush
Berry New Yorker
I just picked Berry New Yorker up the other day so I haven't actually used this on my cheeks yet.  When I swatched it I saw it as a berry pink nude color.  I'm very anxious to use this for an actual look, it looks beautiful!
Gold Radiance
Gold Radiance gets a ton of use from me in the summer as a highlight.  I just use my finger to pat it in on the tops of my cheeks for a fun glow.  This stick is sheerer than the others but that's appropriate since it's meant as a highlight.  What I love most about it is that while it does have chunky glitter, I experience zero fallout since it confined in the cream.  I hardly use blushes or shadows with glitter because I can't stand having glitter falling all over my face except where I intended it to be.  Gold Radiance solves that dilemma.  Unfortunately it was limited edition, so you can't get it in stores anymore but you may be able to find it on Ebay.  I'm wearing it in my Secret Garden FOTD.
Bronze Radiance
There is nothing wrong with Bronze Radiance, I just don't like the color on my cheeks very much.  It comes out a bit on the copper side when blended out.  So if you like copper colors you'd probably like this, it's just not for me.  It does have a really pretty golden sheen to it.  This shade did come out with Gold Radiance though, so it was limited edition as well.
Plaza Pink
Plaza Pink is my absolute favorite of the bunch!  It's a warm, yellow based pink that has a soft sheen to it that gives you a natural-looking dewiness.  I wear this mostly in the summer to achieve that summer time glow.  You can see me wearing it in my Daytime Mermaid FOTD.
Urban Spice
I bought Urban Spice when I bought Berry New Yorker, so I haven't used this on my face either.  I must admit at first I didn't have high hopes for it as it reminded me of Bronze Radiance.  However, when I swatched it I saw that it lacked any copper and was actually more of a shimmery nude that may have a slight rosy undertone.  So consider me curious...
South St. Seashell
I really enjoy South St. Seashell as its that perfect pinky-nude color that will go with any look.  When I don't want to think about what blush color to go with my eyes, lips, or clothes, this is the blush I normally grab for.
Big Apple Blush
Big Apple Blush is a darker pink with a sheen.  I've had this for a while but I don't use it much for the same types of reason I don't use Bronze Radiance:  while it's very pretty, the color just isn't the best for me.

Bottom Line:  Amber LOVES!!! <3<3<3<3<3

While a 1 or 2 of the shades personally don't work for me, I really enjoy the product itself and would highly recommend trying these.  Like the NYC Extreme Lip Gliders though, I've noticed some of these on clearance but I simply cannot fathom NYC discontinuing these with the amount of raves they get on them so hopefully it's just the drugstores getting rid of old product. Either way though, you really should grab some of these if you're looking for the perfect cream blush.

UPDATE 2/3/12:  For some reason that defies logic, NYC has informed me that the Creme Sticks are being discontinued.  Hopefully this is because they have something similar but even better in the works because if that's not the reason, I think this is a huge mistake on their part.  I've never heard anyone have one negative thing about this product, only raving about it.  There are plenty products that I feel are more suitable for discontinuance (*cough* Liquid Lip Shines *cough*) but whatever....I'm not happy about this :/

    1. Me too lol! I was so excited. But then I was scared that they were discontinuing them. Although I never get completely through a product so it's not to big a deal for me I guess :/

  2. Amber, have you found out what they've come up with that is comparable to the blush stick? I love them too :)

    1. Unfortunately I haven't as far as NYC goes. It seems as though they really are abandoning the entire product :(

NYX and Jordana have since come out with blush sticks though. From what I've heard so far, both are pretty good but they don't seem as great as NYC's were. Believe me, I'll still be keeping a look out for the both of us for anything truly comparable coming along!
