Sample Sunday: Carol's Daughter Monoi Repairing Shampoo & Conditioner

I bought some of Carol's Daughter's hair products about 6 years ago when they arrived at Sephora and to be honest, they weren't my favorites.  I have grown to really like the bath and body products but tend to veer away from the hair stuff.  But I gave them another chance last week when I got a sample of the Monoi Repairing Shampoo and Conditioner.

First of all, this stuff smells sooooo good:  like real coconut!  It's not overpowering at all, in fact it's on the subtle side, but it lingers in your hair for days.  Like, every now and then you'll get a whiff of something wonderful and then realize it's your hair.

But what really impressed me was how nice my hair felt after rinsing out the conditioner.  It was so soft and not tangled at all.  And once blow-dried, even my mother was impressed with how soft my hair felt.

It has big claims about preventing breakage and extending the life of your hair by 13 times after just one use, and I'll get into that when I do a more formal review.  Usually when I hear claims like that though, I pretty much just ignore them, but I think this one might have a ring of truth to it.  My hair feels so damn good y'all!

I'm not sure how I feel about the Shampoo though.  It's sulfate-free, which is a good thing, but it took forever to lather.  I know you don't need lather, but I like it.

Would I be interested in purchasing a full size, based on the sample?  I already have!!

I hopped on Sephora the day after I used this stuff and bought a full size conditioner while they were still running their family and friends sale.  I NEVER DO THAT!  That's how much I liked it.  I left the shampoo though, maybe next time...

You can find more information about these products on the Carol's Daughter website.  The shampoo retails for $18, while the conditioner is priced at $20.
